Change the exception, not the whole pattern.

Real schedules change. A vacation, substitute shift, make-up class, or temporary replacement should not force you to rebuild an entire repeating pattern.

Actual flow in the app

  1. Open Calendar and turn on multi-select if you need several exception dates.
  2. Select the date or dates that already have a pattern label.
  3. Open the pattern exception action from the Calendar create or action menu.
  4. Enter the replacement label and colors.
  5. Save. Only applicable selected dates receive override labels.

Real-life examples

A day shift changes to night shift for one day.

A class day becomes a make-up class.

A planned off day becomes substitute work.
